The Mission of the CFAP Consortium is to improve the quality of life for individuals with HIV disease by responding to their existing and emerging needs as well as address needs for those at risk of infection for HIV Disease. We are dedicated to ensuring the provision of, and access to, quality care. The provision of cost effective, culturally sensitive health and social services will be our response to the changing face of the disease. The Central Florida AIDS Planning (CFAP) Consortium is a community planning council, or consortium that advises the area’s distributor of federal HIV/AIDS funds, currently the Heart of Florida United Way. CFAP also provides HIV Disease prevention planning. CFAP is composed of individuals from Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties who convene to assess and prioritize the needs of the HIV/AIDS community in the East Central Florida region. Through CFAP, the voices of local healthcare providers, People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A), those at risk for HIV Disease, and other concerned citizens in the area can to be heard in deciding how to distribute government funds provided by the Ryan White Treatment Modernization Act. The CFAP Consortium, with members from Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole county, support the means which help ease the financial burden of costly medications, health insurance, and care outside of the hospital for PLWH/A. Through community participation in CFAP, we can better the future of PLWH/A in East Central Florida. Find out how to join this effort and become a member of CFAP.
